After completing his A-Levels Matthew worked and travelled for a few years throughout the Middle-East and the Caribbean, namely Jamaica. He loves travelling and is fascinated by different cultures and ideas of national-identity. Now in the second year of his English degree at Wolfson College, he spends a lot of his time between the pages of novels, poems, and literary criticism, but also enjoys political and economic journals. He has long had a passion for music, mainly contemporary urban music, 70s/80s funk and soul and frequently visits the theatre. Although still exploring his options, he hopes to go into the civil service or teaching after graduating.
